New forces joining in as student representatives!

Line Framnes Voldmo

This spring we are fortunate to have two new student representatives contributing to our various aspect of bioCEED activities at UNIS. Line Framnes Voldmo and Solvår Tørres Berntsen are both bachelor students from the University of Tromsø (UiT) and came to UNIS in January 2023 to be a part of the Marine Arctic Biology course (AB-202) and the Arctic Environmental Management course (AB-203).

Line is interested in ecology and sustainability and how species interact and affect each other and the environment. She is also interested in how climate changes affect northern climate, and how it is different in Svalbard from mainland Norway. Solvår finds the unique arctic climate fascinating, and arctic management and ecology are some of the things that interests her the most.

Being a part of bioCEED gives them an opportunity to influence the learning of biology students. They hope to contribute to a more practical and active learning, with more interaction between students and other parts of the biology field. Line and Solvår are also excited about the bioCEED events the student representatives will arrange this semester.

Welcome on board!
