Students in workplace practice attended a seminar in October where they discussed their experiences in the workplace. The students could exchange perspectives and experiences from their workplace practice which is now approaching the end.
Among other things, the students talked about how they have been able to work with genuine data, which has consequences beyond themselves and their course grades. This has been a motivation factor. Several students believe that they gained a lot of competence as a result of their university studies, but many students desire more emphasis on discussions and critical thinking on campus. Many of the students also talked about a new sense of direction in their biology studies and what they would like to do in the future – be it research or careers at different workplaces.
