We are repeating the bioCEED survey that was conducted in 2015 and 2018. All major universities and university colleges in Norway with biology and biology-related programs have been invited to participate. This time the recipients are students, and we have updated the survey with some new topics. The survey was sent out to the selected students on Monday 2nd of October and will be open for three weeks. If your institution have sent out this survey, we hope you will spread the word to your students and encourage them to participate in the survey
The current survey is built on the bioCEED surveys from 2015 and 2018. In 2015 teachers, students, administrative staff at universities in addition to representatives of the workforce employing biologists were surveyed on their views, thoughts, and opinions on tertiary-level biology education in Norway. In 2018 students and university-teachers were asked many of the same questions, providing us the opportunity of comparison, and to look into developments in the sector. This time, in 2023, we included some of the old questions for comparisons, but we focused more on the research interests of the involved researchers. This survey covers the topics of motivation, assessment, field and lab courses, work practices, sense of belonging, test anxiety etc.
