I am back! My name is Ragnhild Gya, and I used to be a student representative for bioCEED at UiB back in 2015-2017. Since then, I have been semi-involved in different bioCEED projects while I did my PhD in plant ecology at UiB. In June 2023 I started my postdoc in biology didactics at UiB, which of course makes collaborations with bioCEED very relevant. So, I am glad to say that I am finally back!
My postdoc consists of 25% teaching, which will be linked to the teacher education at UiB, and 75% research over four years. I am especially interested in field and lab teaching, and plan to focus my didactical research on these topics. I am starting off with a literature review on field course teaching, and by developing and administrating the bioCEED survey with specific responsibility for the lab and field questions.
In my previous days in bioCEED I was involved in starting biORACLE (the student-led oracle service at UiB) and bioSPIRE (a project where students can get experience with practical biology in the field or in the lab – supervised by master students, PhDs, postdocs or technicians). I am very interested in student-led initiatives, and student-as-partners as a concept.
