Students’ activity fall 2023

This autumn semester students had many possibilities in engaging and learning additionally to the course offers. UNISbreakfast ran three times where students could participate in and learn about other students’ experiences. The invited speakers were mainly PhD students working on their project and talking about their carrier experiences so far. Take away messages, such as “it is ok to not know what you want to do and/or to change the path 360°” were formulated.

 Additionally, the Learning Forum took place. This year in its 10th anniversary. Students could visit two workshops to gain extra knowledge in addition to the held lectures. The workshops were: “Cooperative Learning and the Jigsaw Classroom” and “Opportunities and risks in Large Language Models in Higher Education”. Unfortunately, students did not show the wished amount of interest, but the workshops ran successfully with a lower participant number. During the poster session, multiple students joined to get to know the presented topics such as “Elvesletta Student Learning Area – how can it support students learning?” All student representatives connected to bioCEED shared a poster presenting UNISbreakfast, SCOPE, UNISoracle and UNISprout. The interest of the invited staff was huge. Some even wanted to try and start something similar at their home university.

 All over all was 2023 a successful year for the students with five UNISbreakfast´ s, a fall semester with UNISoracle, a lot of students joining in on UNISproutthe student-lead conference SCOPE and the Learning forum taking place!
