The teaching staff at BIO (UiB) gathered for the Annual Teachers Retreat in beautiful surroundings in Os outside Bergen 30 November- 01 December.
At the teachers retreat the BIO teaching staff and bioCEED meet to share experience about teaching and learning and to present examples and findings from their own practice and investigations. This year’s programme featured findings from bioCEED studies, tips and tricks for active learning and information and experiences from the merit system at the MN-faculty. Teachers participated in workshops and discussion sessions on assessment, bioCEED platforms and teaching portfolios. We would especially like to thank Henriette Linge from Department of Earth Science that joined us and led a discussion group on writing in field-based education, and also our vicedean Harald Walderhaug for presenting the merit system for teaching.
