Towards the end for the Centres for Excellence in Education in Norway?
A proposal for Norway's National Budget for 2024 was presented to the Storting on 6 October 2023 (see the webpage of the government here).
It is with great concern that we learn about the proposed shutdown of the initiative that supports the Centre for Excellence in Education (Sentre for Fremragende Utdanning - SFU) 10 years after the start of what many of called "a success story" in higher education. In the recent days, student leaders, teachers, SFU leaders, Pro-Rectors of Norwegian universities among others have reacted to the announcement.
Here are some of the op-eds and articles (in Norwegian) from Khrono where they express their disappointment and concern for the future of higher education in Norway.
