New student representatives at UNIS

Fredrik Andreas Selmer is a bachelor student from The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). Currently he is serving as a new student representative for bioCEED at UNIS. Fredrik has been at UNIS since the end of July 2021 and his interests involve the changing of the Arctic and how the changes affect the different animal species, as well as the system as a whole. He is particularly interested in how this all effects the Arctic invertebrates. In the near future Fredrik is planning to continue with a master focusing on invertebrates and ecosystems. Being a part of bioCEED gives him an opportunity to gain further insight in how the professors work, and a understanding of how the universitiy community is functioning.  He is currently co-organizing the bioSEMINARS and UNISbreakfast together with Rebecca Gorniak and Marlena Wegner.

Rebecca Gorniak is a bachelor student from the University of Bremen and is now serving as a new student representative for bioCEED at UNIS. Rebecca came to UNIS in January 2022 and her field of interest involve the polar regions in the context of climate change. She is particularly passionate about expeditions with research vessels. Participating in bioCEED gives her the opportunity to be involved and influence the biology education. Rebecca has a special focus on gaining practical experiences during her studies to be able to better link theory with practice and to get a feeling of the professional world. She is happy to join the bioCEED team of student representatives to co-organize the bioSEMINARS seminars and UNISbreakfast.
